Te Waka Rākau - HE RONGOĀ
Time & Location
About the Event
We are so excited to deliver Te Waka Rākau - He Rongoā in the magical Te Wao Nui a Tiriwa in the heart of West Auckland surrounded by large native Rākau Rangatira. The retreat is adjacent to Cascade Kauri Park with bush walks and river swimming. Also nearby is Te Henga (Bethells Beach) and the Wainamu Lake which has fresh water and sand dunes. This setting provides a quiet and relaxed atmosphere to tautoko our work with rākau for deep healing, transformation and expanding consciousness.
Our bones are the stones of Papatūānuku, our blood is of the flowing streams and rivers and our breath comes from the rākau of te waonui a Tāne.
Te Waka Rākau - He Rongoā is a space where we work with rongoā to assist us in purifying the tinana (body), hinengaro (mind & emotions) and wairua (spirit). At this wānanga we will make rongoā for certain conditions and work with poultices and wraps for the tinana (body). We will work with rongoā for sore muscles and bones and learn gentle mirimiri movements to enhance the flow of energy.
You will learn some of the medicinal properties of plants that are specific for our space but primarily, you will learn the deeper aspects of the healing power of plants.
Mauri is the quintessential essence of the wānanga. Anyone from any culture is welcome. This retreat is about 'emptying the vessel' to move deeper into the kingdom of nature.
Cost of the wānanga is $280.
You can choose to stay overnight as accommodation is provided for on Saturday night. You will need to bring your own bedding and towels.
The wānanga is run from:
Saturday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Sunday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Spaces are strictly limited.
